Moderation Pointers -- Creating a FAQ for those new to the mic

My main client is working on reaching out using web chats and telephony. Last week they attempted a 'live chat' using a traditional chat room .... Most of our audience is not technologically well versed. It was not a rowsing success. It was a never ending stream of questions, and the 'guest' had a hard time making his comments/responses seen.

I suggested to the co-ordinator of this event to utilize a 'listen only' teleconference with a chat support where the modeartor fields the questions from chat/in advance/the audience may use the chat room for internal/side discussion if they so desire.

I will be working on a set of 'pointers' for how to do this. I will be working from my own 'that was good' or 'i think that could have been done better' experience in moderation for the the real and virtual settings.

If anyone would like to contribute, I'd love to have your insight and I'll be happy to share the WIP as we near a document.
